My letter in today’s EDP

In response to GP Brown’s letter (EDP, 24 August) which questioned the role of UKIP Councillors on Norfolk County Council, I find a very pertinent question. After voting for George Nobbs to become Council Leader, UKIP Councillors have now found themselves well and truly kippered by their Labour and Liberal Democrat colleagues. At the time of the vote, UKIP Councillors did not realise that they would not be allowed to have any say at all. It is well known around County Hall the frustrations of UKIP Councillors as they sit and watch Labour and the Liberal Democrats make decisions without being consulted. However, after council elected a leader, Toby Cooke (UKIP Leader) was quoted saying that they will take a “back seat”, I wonder if this is what people expected of their UKIP representatives?
